God had a dream; in pursuit of that dream He divided the light and the darkness, created all things in heaven and on earth, and finally created one man and one woman in His image. Let us discover this long-cherished dream of God.
God created His beloved children, Adam and Eve, and bestowed upon them Three Great Blessings: Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth, and have dominion over every living thing. God hoped that Adam and Eve would grow to maturity, receive His Blessing in marriage, form a true family that would multiply as one family of humanity, and establish an ideal world where the entire creation would be governed with love.
However, due to the fall of Adam and Eve, their descendants, all of humankind, came to inherit Satan’s lineage, which was completely unrelated to God.
God could not abandon humankind, whom He had created as the object partner of His eternal love. Accordingly, He carried out the long providence of restoration to save fallen humanity and restore them as His originally created children. After a preparatory period of 4,000 years, God sent to earth His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who possessed His true love, true life and true lineage. However, Jesus Christ was unable to form a true family and fulfill the Three Great Blessings, due to the disbelief of the Jewish people and the persecution of the Roman Empire. Instead, he died on the cross.
In order to realize His dream, a world of peace and true love, God absolutely had to complete the ideal of a true family on earth. After again pursuing the providence of restoration, with bitter tears, for two thousand years, He was finally able to send to earth His only begotten Son and only begotten Daughter, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who were born on the Korean Peninsula.
Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the True Father of humankind, was born on the 6th day of the first lunar month (February 25) in 1920, in Jeongju-gun, North Pyeongahn Province (now North Korea). For three years before his conception, a golden pheasant would appear and sing in a tree near his parents’ house; and around the time of his birth, his mother and other relatives had dreams and visions of white and yellow dragons flying up to the sky. Such incidents marked the birth of God’s only begotten Son and the Lord at his Second Advent.
Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the True Mother of Humankind, was born on the 6th day of the first lunar month (February 10) in 1943, in Anju-gun, North Pyeongahn Province in what is now North Korea. Her father had a dream of cranes dancing in bright sunlight in a pine forest, and others received the revelation that she was destined to become the bride of Heaven, that is, the wife of the Lord. Such incidents marked the providential birth of God’s only begotten Daughter, the substantial Holy Spirit.
Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon grew up preparing themselves for the providence. On the first day of the third lunar month (March 27) in 1960, the two were engaged to be married. Fifteen days later, on the 16th of the third lunar month (April 11), their Holy Wedding Ceremony was performed. Thus, the only begotten Son and only begotten Daughter of God were united on earth as True Parents. It was the turning point in the history of human salvation.
Proclaiming that they would work to realize God’s dream until their final breath, Rev. Moon and Dr. Han led the providence of restoration. They discovered and proclaimed the hidden Word of God, and carried out the providence of saving fallen humanity through the Marriage Blessing. They began to substantiate the world of the ideal of creation, the dream of God from the very beginning. In this world, society would be characterized by interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values.
In the ideal world that fulfills God’s purpose of creation, the economic and political systems will be based on the ideals of interdependence and mutual prosperity, and universal values will guide all people to engage only in ethical behavior.
The ideology of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values contains the blueprint of the ideal world of peace envisioned by Rev. Moon and Dr. Han. These concepts are organically interconnected, and while they may not cover all of Rev. Moon and Dr. Han’ providence, these three themes provide a foundation for us to examine the ideal world of peace and to examine Rev. Moon and Dr. Han’s goals from a new perspective.
