Sharing Rev. Moon and Dr. Han’ Vision

A Committed Effort for the Realization of Lasting Peace

Following Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s ascension to the spirit world on September 3, 2012, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon has continued without rest the work to realize a better world: the same world of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values that she and her husband had sought to realize together.

Dr. Han continues to spread the values of peace through media, education, culture and the arts. She has launched scholarship projects to raise future leaders of peace. She has founded targeted organizations in key areas of society including global governance and interfaith relations. In 2017, the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) was founded to actively address conflicts between countries and contribute to the realization of lasting peace.

In that same year in November, the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) was founded to serve as a platform to go beyond existing religious barriers and pursue the fundamental values that will bring about harmony among the faiths. Present on this day were 500 religious leaders representing 20 or so religious groups.

In 2019, on the foundation of these international peace organizations, the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) was founded as an international organization for current and former heads of state and government to bring their wisdom and experience to address the cause of world peace. Present at the inauguration were 1,200 leaders from all sectors of society, including heads of state and government.

The “rallies of hope” and the summit conferences that Dr. Han has presided over on national and continental levels over the past seven years have marked a course toward ‘heavenly nations,’ ‘heavenly continents,’ and a ‘heavenly world’ of peace. The first national-level summit Mother Moon hosted convened in Senegal in 2018. This has been followed by a series of conventions, most notably the summit conference co-hosted with the government of São Tomé and Príncipe. It was on this foundation that the Africa Continental Summit in Niger came to be co-hosted by the Africa Union, ECOWAS, and the G5 Sahel. The Africa Continental Summit discussed issues related to peace and the future of Africa, and sought to find solutions to existing problems.

At the Asia Pacific Summit, conducted in Cambodia, Dr. Han proposed the establishment of the ‘Asia Pacific Union’ to call for interdependence, cooperation and solidarity among Asia Pacific nations centered on the values of peace. We stand at the dawn of the era of the Pacific Civilization, a civilization that will outshine and eventually replace past civilizations that have plundered and conquered.

In this manner, the summit conferences have been more than steps toward peace in particular nations, becoming part of a greater current that is building cooperation and solidarity between nations. When this vision of peace spreads from a nation to the continent, and on to the world, and when everyone is free to participate in building an ideal world of peace based on interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values, then a new, ‘heavenly’ world will surely come.
