Late Work Policy for 5th/6th Grade Social Studies, Math, and Science and 7th Grade Math:
1 Day Late: 90% of Earned Points
2 Days Late: 80% of Earned Points
3 Days Late: 70% of Earned Points
4 Days Late: 50% of Earned Points
5 (or more) Days Late: No Credit Given
Note: I (Mrs. Becvar) reserve the right to use my discretion to give more credit for late work AND/OR extend deadlines for completion if needed (example: serious illness, emergencies, weather absences, etc.).
Each situation will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Assignments are typically due the day after they are assigned. If the due date is different than the day after assigning, that is communicated to the students. Planners are utilized in 5th/6th Grade and should be used as a tool to help students keep track of work and remember to complete it. Students attending extra-curricular events are expected to notify their teacher(s) and get their work prior to their event. Due dates still apply to work assigned for extra-curricular events.
Points will be rounded UP to the nearest half point if a percentage of points does not calculate to a whole or half number value. Example: 13.43 points would round up to 13.5 points.
"Earned points" is defined as the number of problems completed correctly on the original assignment.
