The 2D Honors Studio Art Classes Level I-IV is designed for highly motivated students interested in exploring and developing their two-Dimensional art skills. Students will work in their preferred medium(s) and will be required to complete a personal portfolio of work by the end of the semester. There will be group and individual critiques during the making of and on the due date of each assignment. At the Honors level each project should be greater and require additional time to complete. Students may work in the following media: drawing (pencil, charcoal, conté crayon), acrylic painting, print making (block, wood cut, silk screen), batik, multi-media or digital photography.
A weekly sketchbook will be kept as a record of a student’s creative thought process and technical development. A field trip and a paper on an assigned work of art is also required.
