Wraparound Support and Partnership Working
When people need to access affordable food, they may also need support with other areas, such as advice with benefits, debt and credit or housing. Co-locating advice workers within food projects can ensure that members receive advice and wraparound support and don't fall through the cracks when being signposted.
Feeding Britain works with partners to embed wraparound support within Affordable Food Clubs, and may have funding and resources to support your work. Contact info@feedingbritain.org to find out more.
Below are some resources that you may find useful when planning or offering wraparound support within a food project. The resources on this site have been shared in good faith by projects and partners within the Feeding Britain network, to help save time and share practice.
All example documents will need to be reviewed and amended for your project before being used.

Healthy Start
Healthy Start is a UK Government scheme which provides an allowance for pregnant women and families with young children on low incomes. They are entitled to a minimum of £4.25 per week on a prepaid card to purchase healthy items like milk, fruit, veg and pulses. This increases to 8.50 per week for children from birth to 1 year old. Find out more here - https://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/. It also entitles families to free vitamins.
Feeding Britain encourages Affordable Food Clubs to accept Healthy Start cards and to promote the scheme. If you would like to accept Healthy Start in your project but do not currently have a card reader, Feeding Britain may be able to offer funding to cover this.
