"FAQ" stands for Frequently Asked Questions, so this page will have answers to many questions that are asked many times.
If you have a question that isn't answered here then contact us using this form (you will need to be logged in to your Fearnhill Google account).
You need to be logged into your Fearnhill Google Workspace account. A common mistake is that you are logged into your own personal - or another - Google account. Please check your browser, Chromebook or mobile device to ensure you are logged in.
Students should only have one password for Windows and Google at Fearnhill. It is important that you keep your password secure (hidden) and that you do not forget it. Normally you should not write your password down: someone could find it and log into your account. You could store a picture of it in your photos on your phone - you would keep these safe, so it will keep your password safe. Teachers will normally permit students to refer to their phone for the sole purpose of retreiving a password.
If you have lost your password then you need to ask a teacher - perhaps your form-tutor - to reset it. When your password is reset it changes for both Google and Windows.
If you have lost your details for a subject-specific resource then please speak or send an email to your teacher of that subject. Most web sites that we use allow you, such as Sparx, allow you to log in using Google.
If you are a member of staff then you will need to raise an IT Helpdesk ticket in order to get your password reset.
We should be using Google Meet for virtual meetings wherever possible: this is integrated with our Google Workspace accounts, calendar, email etc.
If you have an external meeting for which Zoom is necessary to join you can join without installing the client. When you click on the Zoom meeting you will be taken to a Chrome browser window. Click on the "join meeting" and then a link appears at the bottom offering the ability to join using your web browser. Select this and you will be able to join the meeting without problems.
If you are joining from a desktop without a camera and/or microphone then you can use a visualizer to provide this functionality (you do not need to open the visualizer software, just plug in the visualizer USB and it will be identified by the Zoom browser code as a camera and microphone).
