Admission Requirements:

Admission to the program requires the recommendation of candidates by school and system administrators. Candidates must be approved for admission prior to being eligible to register for the first course. Courses must be completed in the following sequence:

Coaching Endorsement courses:

1. Fundamentals of Coaching

2. Gaining Perspectives: Approaches to Coaching

Computer Science Endorsement courses:

1. Computational Thinking and Programming Basics

2. Computers for a Connected World

3. Methods of Computer Science

Dyslexia Endorsement Courses:

1. Understanding Language Development and Dyslexia

2. Assessment and Evidence-Based Reading Instruction for Students with Dyslexia

3. Methods in Multi-Sensory Instruction and Interventions

ESOL Endorsement courses:

1. Cultural Issues in TESOL

2. Applied Linguistics in TESOL

3. Methods and Materials in TESOL

Gifted Endorsement courses:

1. Characteristics of the Gifted

2. Assessment of the Gifted

3. Curriculum and Program Development for Gifted

4. Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted

Online Personalized Learning Endorsement Courses:

1. Shifting Paradigms

2. Shifting Mindsets

3. Shifting Practices

Online Teaching Endorsement Courses:

1. Foundations of Online Instruction

2. Designing Online Instruction

3. Teaching Online Courses

Reading Endorsement courses:

1. Foundations of Teaching Reading

2. Teaching Reading and Writing in the Content Areas

3. Reading Assessment, Diagnosis and Evaluation

Eligibility requirements include documentation of the following:

• A minimum of two full years of successful teaching experience;

• A valid Georgia Standards Professional or Performance-Based Certificate;

• A current contract with a Georgia school system;

• Recommendations from the school principal and one additional system administrator;

• Proficiency with technology and a commitment to post-graduate level work.
