Letters of Recommendation
GUIDELINES FOR OBTAINING A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
To request a counselor/teacher recommendation, please carefully follow these steps:
Submit the Letter of Recommendation Google survey linked on the counseling Google site
Have your parents/guardians complete Parent/Guardian Google survey linked on the counseling Google site
Ask your teacher to write a letter of recommendation. Be sure to include in the email what platform (Common App, Coalition App.) they will be asked to use to submit, for which campus they are writing as well as the due dates for each school.
Once they have agreed to write your letter, add the teacher to your common app as a recommender. You must also invite your counselor to your application.
If you have missed the October 10 deadline, at minimum you need to give your counselor at least three weeks notice that a letter is needed before the deadline. It is more efficient for counselors to complete all forms at once. The three weeks does not include holidays or vacation.
