The CREATE Mentoring Program is a semester-long, immersive experience that connects high school students with industry professionals from engineering, construction, architecture, and the trades. Through guided mentorship, students work alongside experts to respond to real-world project challenges, complete client needs assessments, develop design and construction plans, visit active job sites, and explore career pathways in the built environment.
Our students gain both technical and professional skills — from schematic design and project documentation to public-speaking and project management — culminating in a celebration of innovation and achievement at the annual CREATE awards event.
While our school has proudly participated in the CREATE Competition and Mentoring Program in previous years, this year we opted to take a brief pause from competition involvement to focus our energy on our Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams grant project. This unique opportunity allowed our students to push the boundaries of invention and design thinking.
