The Voice is published annually. It is distributed free to all contributors, other students, and school faculty and staff. Archival copies are kept by the Creative Writing Club adviser and the Library. Additional copies, when available, can be purchased for $5. Volume 12 was desktop published using Adobe InDesign 2023. Images were scanned using cellphones, digital cameras, and an Epson Scanner.
Body copy, bylines, and folios were set in Georgia 10 pt; headline fonts were selected by the page designer to fit the tone of individual spreads.
All Voice staff members helped in content and quality control by selecting the best writing and art work from those submitted. Seniors Miley Hanna, Mabel Styron, Julian Fost, and Nel Kulp led the 2026 process.
The Voice 2026 was printed on 100# matte paper stock for cover and inside pages. It was printed in April 2026 by Winchester Printers, Winchester, Va., with the help of Bill Casella, Production Manager, & Kristi Mantoni, Prepress Technician/Graphic Designer.
Special appreciation goes to the Millbrook English and Art Departments for strongly encouraging students to submit. An even bigger thank you goes to the Millbrook CTE Tech Ed Graphic Design, Photography and Animation classes for their work creating awesome page designs with the selected art and writing. Thank you to Sherri Conroy, Bookkeeper, for keeping track of our finances; Adrienne Patrick, Assistant Principal, for efficiently and sensitively reviewing materials for inclusion; and Jared Uhler, Activities Director, and Joanne Altendorf, Principal, for finding money in the school’s budget to make this publication a reality.
