Students will sign up for crew, and pending the number of students interested, interviews will be held during ELT to determine our final crew members. There is a chance not everyone will be assigned a crew.
IMPORTANT CREW DATES:
Tuesday, September 2 - Crew sign ups OPEN
Tuesday, September 9 - Crew sign ups CLOSE
Sept. 10 to Sept. 12 - If needed, crew interviews for various positions will take place during ELT. Specific date(s) to be determined.
Friday, Sept. 12 - Crew assignments will be posted. Crew must fill out "Role Acceptance Form."
Wednesday, Sept. 17 - Parent/Student Contract Meeting - 6:30p - 7:30p, Cafeteria - DEVICE NEEDED!
Below is information about the various crews that meet throughout our show. Students are welcome to sign up for more than one crew but some crews do have a student limit. Each crew has different responsibilities and meeting times, so be sure to read through each section carefully. All crews will meet during rehearsal time, which is 3:15p - 5:15p, unless otherwise noted. A list of crews available to students:
Saturday Family Build Crew (student & parent sign up)
Props Making Crew Makeup/Hair Crew Light Crew (4 students)
Props Crew Costume Crew Sound Crew (4 students)
Stage Crew Curtain (1 student)
LEADERSHIP POSITION (7th & 8th grade only):
Stage Managers (2)
- Leadership role beginning during audition week.
- Responsibilities include assisting the director during rehearsals, setting up for rehearsal, running lines, taking notes on blocking, etc. This student will lead the stage crew during the run of the show, working alongside our adult Stage Manager. Note, this is a leadership position. This student will be expected to help during all acting rehearsals, and, if possible, with auditions.
- This position is open to 7th and 8th grade students only and has already been filled.
Saturday Family Build Crew (parents & students)- Will meet on Saturdays to help build our set pieces and specialty props. To be a part of crew, the student must have a guardian/parent who will work alongside the student during our build days.
- Build days will run from 9a to 2p and are scheduled for Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 25, Nov. 1 if needed
- Members of this crew are expected to attend at least 2 of our Saturday Build dates.
Props Making Crew (10-14 students)- Will meet after school on a day TBD to build, create, and paint various props beginning in September or October.
Stage Crew:- Will join rehearsals in November.
- Includes moving sets, organizing props, and operating the curtain.
- In charge of collecting and cleaning up the stage.
Technical Crew: Light Crew (2 to 4 students)- In charge of spotlights during performances.
- Students will be working alongside our Lighting Director who will run the stage light cues during performances.
- Will join rehearsals in November.
Sound Crew (2-3 students)- Will attend rehearsal beginning September 22.
- REHEARSAL: Students will run music throughout the week at dance and blocking rehearsals. This responsibility will be split between the students.
- PERFORMANCES: In charge of distributing and collecting microphones to students and replacing batteries. Run sound cues during show. Students will be working alongside adults and help manage the microphone cues and sound board during performances.
Hair, Makeup, and Costume Crew:Hair & Makeup Crew (8 students)- Work your magic creating the character hair styles and applying stage makeup for the cast.
- Students will be required to start attending practices in November.
Costume Crew (6 students)- Help to organize character costumes and help with quick changes.
