In keeping with FCPS Policy 439, student dress at THS should adhere to the following guidelines:
Student clothing or other worn items (buttons, arm bands, flags, badges, decals, items of symbolic expression, etc.) may not be worn if it could substantially disrupt or interfere with school activities, or if it is legally libelous or obscene.
Student clothing or other worn items may not show or advertise drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or weapons
Student clothing or other worn items may not feature sexually offensive or vulgar words, pictures, phrases, drawings, etc.
Student clothing or other worn items may not contain derogatory expressions or language regarding the following that could substantially disrupt or interfere with school activities:
A person’s race, color, gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or disability
Student attire which serves to disrupt the safe and orderly environment of the school is prohibited, such as:
Clothing/Items worn to depict gangs
Clothing/Items that may conceal weapons or other illegal items such as drugs
Accessories that may be used as weapons
