Outdoor School
Outdoor School provides outdoors based learning experiences for students in Frederick County Public Schools. Outdoor School offers out-of-school field experiences for 5th and 6th grade students.
Students, teachers, and staff can use this site to link to current materials that reflect local resources for education. Teachers can access Schoology courses and Google Drive docs to support instruction.

OUTDOOR SCHOOL
Since 1957 the Frederick County Outdoor School has provided quality outdoor educational experiences to the students of Frederick County Public Schools. Currently the Outdoor School provides instruction to over 6,000 students annually. The Outdoor School program spans state and local curriculums across multiple subject areas including science, math, social studies, and language arts. Students are exposed to environmental issues that encourage them to become environmental stewards for our local watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout the outdoor experience students also meet Maryland requirements for Student Service Learning and Environmental Literacy.
The Outdoor School Program is aligned with the essential curriculum for science as a required experience for all FCPS 5th and 6th grade students. This experience fulfills several MSDE requirements:
