We would love to have you serve as a volunteer! We always appreciate our volunteers! No matter how big or small your contributions, you are integral to the support and experiences we can provide to our students. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer in any capacity (during the school and/or at extra-curricular activities), you must complete a short training and registration process as a first step. We will then connect you with volunteer opportunities to help serve our students and school.
Click the following link to become a volunteer today: https://pubforms.fcps.org/view.php?id=78542.
For more information or support, please reach out to Ivania Amador, Family and Community Involvement Coordinator, ivania.amador@fcps.org.
FCPS will reset student passwords at midnight on August 17. This password allows students to login to their Chromebooks, Chrome, Schoology and other FCPS resources.
School staff will help students reset their passwords on August 18 to ensure that the password is adjusted from the default and allows access to FCPS resources.
Parents/Guardians who have questions after the password is reset on August 17 should contact their child's school.
If you are new to FCPS, your username and password will be established on August 18.
Blended Virtual Program students will receive directions from their teachers on how to change their passwords on the first day of school.
Students that previously purchased a yearbook and did not yet pick it up, please visit Room 101 (across from the upper parking lot doors) during block 4 at school.

As we welcome our Catoctin students back to school, please remember that face coverings are required. If you do not have one, we will have masks available at the door upon arrival.
The FCPS expectations for face coverings for staff, students and visitors will be:
All staff and students will be required to wear face coverings in our school buildings when students are present. If only adults are in the school building, face coverings are required in situations when social distancing is not feasible. Unvaccinated individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering at all times.
Staff in office buildings will be required to wear face coverings when physical distancing of six feet is not feasible. Unvaccinated individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering at all times indoors.
Face coverings will not be required outdoors, but are strongly encouraged for those who are unvaccinated.
Face coverings will continue to be required on school buses.
Issues of non-compliance will be handled per FCPS Regulation 400-8 Student Discipline. The discipline regulation provides for progressive discipline for incidents of disruptive or willfully disobedient behavior.
As conditions change, FCPS will update their Expectations for Face Coverings in School Buildings to address continuing health and safety concerns.
Applications for free and reduced-price school meal benefits for the 2021-2022 school year are online at www.fcps.org/meals.
Frederick County Public Schools, Food and Nutrition Services announces participation in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) for the 2021-2022 school year. SSO is part of the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Program and has been approved by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to allow all children enrolled at Frederick County Public Schools to receive meals for free.
Breakfast and lunch meals are FREE for ALL FCPS students enrolled in traditional in-school classes or virtual school for the 2021-2022 school year. Breakfast and lunch are available on days when children are in school.
Even though all students will receive meals at no charge, we encourage families to complete the free and reduced-price meal benefits application because the USDA provides funds that support the nutrition program based on your child’s eligibility. Eligibility for free or reduced-price meal reimbursement is based on the following annual income eligibility guidelines effective from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
If you have previously received free and reduced-price meal benefits, you must re-apply for the 2021-21 school year.
Please visit this link to apply quickly and easily online: Online Free & Reduced Meals Application.

Please plan to be in your first block class at 7:30 AM tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/18) morning – we want to take advantage of every minute to reconnect and start our work together.
There is a lot of important information included in this newsletter (including a FAQ document that will, hopefully, answer many of your questions.) Please take some time to review this information this evening.
