The HCHS Youth Services Center's mission is to enhance student’s ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining programs and partnerships that promote academic achievement and well-being, leading to high school graduation and a successful transition into adult life. Programs and services are provided under the five state mandated/funded components:
Referrals to community health and social services;
Career exploration and development;
Summer and part-time job development for youths;
Substance abuse education and referrals;
Family crisis/mental health services or referrals.
The HCHS YSC is able to provide the various programs and services due to a state-funde grant! You can help to keep services such as FRYSC in our schools by completing the Educational Benefits Form linked here. To learn more about your local FCPS FRYSC's click this document!

Mrs. Beatty-Adams, Coordinator
Mrs. Beatty-Adams joined the HCHS staff in August 2025 as the YSC Coordinator. However, she is not new to the Blue Devils family or even the position of YSC Coordinator. She served as a YSC Coordinator from 1999-2017 at a local middle school before moving to a Guidance Counselor position the past 8 years. Mrs. Beatty-Adams has three children; two of which are HCHS Alums!
"I am so excited to be working with the students, staff and families of HCHS to provide unique needs-based programs and services under the YSC!"
