Robotics

Robotics- We use robots throughout the year. We have several LEGO EV3 robots that we use for competitions, several Dashes from Wonder Workshop, and a few Finches from Birdbrain Technologies. We used these to help teach algorithms, sequencing, and how robots can help us.

Dash by Wonder Workshop

Dash is a fantastic addition to our classroom. We have 5 Dashes. Dashes can be used with any Android or newer Ipad. There are several apps available for Dash and his tiny companion Dot. At the basic levels, children can drive Dash around with a joystick on the screen. As the user progresses, we can use other apps to help program Dash using a Block style programming language.

Finch by Birdbrain Technology

We were lucky enough to win several Finches during the Hour of Code two years ago. They must be connected by a USB cable, but can be used on a Chromebook or computer.
