February 14th, 2024: Berea College Tour
Berea College is a Liberal Arts college in Berea, Kentucky. It was the first integrated, co-educational college in the South, and it has not charged students tuition since 1892. Students enrolled work on campus. All they pay for is room, board, and meal plans.
Here's how it went!
To kick off the technology Go Digital Class, the class visited The Kentucky Educational Television Station, a network of PBS stations serving The Commonwealth of Kentucky. Our students got to hear about some of the entertaining and beloved quality shows that have been produced there such as Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Kentucky Afield, Downton Abbey, Wild Kratts, Education Matters, and Kentucky Edition. TLC students got a first-hand look at editing/recording rooms, production equipment, and rooms, as well as the KET Set Rooms. Students were able to see how news/ shows are put together and produced, as well as ask questions of KET professionals. Students could see where their vision and hard work could potentially take them. They enjoyed the trip and got to experience a very inspiring day.
