If you are not already familiar, the Peace Corps is a federal agency that sends US Citizens to over 60 different countries to form cross-cultural connections and assist with community centered development work. This work can lead to federal hiring benefits and attending graduate school at a reduced rate.
The basic requirements for service in the Peace Corps are that you must be a US citizen, and you must be at least 18 years of age. Peace Corps assignments are 27 months: 3 months of training, plus 24 months of service. The entire application process may take about 9-12 months and is highly competitive. 90% percent of Volunteer positions require a college degree.
