For our NTI days, we are following a modified flipped classroom model, where you post online instruction materials in Canvas, along with assignments and assessments, and then provide support through office hours online. You have many options to communicate that online instruction to students. You can find videos on YouTube, Khan Academy, and in our Gale Databases. If you want to create your own instructional videos, you have many options. Screencastify, EdPuzzle and Flipgrid are our recommendations to you. You can also use PearDeck or Google Slides as well! Feel free to use any platform that you are comfortable with, and link or embed those videos in Canvas.

We have an FDHS school license for EdPuzzle! EdPuzzle allows you to embed formative assessments into any YouTube video - even ones that you create in Screencastify! It plays nice with Canvas, and has it's own grading and gradebook. Students can't forward through the videos either.
Thank you for trusting Edpuzzle during this difficult time. We've activated an emergency trial pack for your school so teachers can use Edpuzzle for distance learning in the event of a school closure. Here's what you need to know:

When making a video for class instruction, it is sometimes helpful to be able to write on the screen to work problems or emphasize words or images. Take at look at how interactive whiteboards can work for you when using Screencastify!
Microsoft Whiteboard is a freeform digital canvas on the Surface Hub where people, ideas, and content come together.
Get the best out of intelligent inking:
Along with a standard set of ink colors, Whiteboard includes new eye-catching ink shades, a highlighter, and a virtual ruler which give you more flexibility, emphasis and precision than a physical whiteboard. Smart ink technology like Ink to Shape and Ink to Table automatically turn drawings into standard shapes so your diagrams, flowcharts, and lists become cleaner and easier for everyone to understand. Whiteboard also comes with a virtual lasso that lets you drag and resize content so it’s easy to manage your ideas, and keep things organized for the team.
