Cross-listing is used when you have multiple classes that are the same content, like teaching 4 Algebra 1 classes. Using cross-listing allows you to work in one Canvas course and have that content linked to all your other courses, while maintaining the classes as sections. It is a one-stop shop for you to put all your content in one Canvas course! https://support.canvas.fsu.edu/kb/article/924-how-do-i-crosslist-a-section-in-my-course/
After cross-listing, publish your course! Students will see the course in All Courses and then can "star" it to have it on their Dashboard.
Posting a syllabus is the first step to starting your Canvas course. Make sure to PUBLISH the course at this step. There is a PUBLISH button in the upper righthand corner of the course to get the course started - then you can publish your content as you go.
You can create content in Modules (like Chapters) that contain pages, assignments, and/or quizzes. See what options you have to share with students!
You can create online assessments using Canvas Quizzes. Set up the quiz and Canvas will grade it for you! Any assignment can be graded within Canvas using Speedgrader - you can annotate, use a rubric, and so much more!
