Information about Community Service for 2024-2025 School Year
What is Community Service? Community Service is a program that enables students to volunteer their time and energy at a site for the school year (or they can split their time among two sites). The program allows students to explore possible careers and develop job-readiness skills. Students often volunteer at churches, schools, or other non-profit agencies.
Students receive either two or four elective credits. The class is a two-block class on A days only, B days only, or A and B days that lasts the entire year.
What are some of the benefits? You can discover a passion to pursue after high school or discover what types of tasks don’t interest you. You will network, meet important people that can influence your future, and build your resume to impress potential employers/colleges. Also, you will gain an impressive number of volunteer hours and have the chance to use your talents to give back towards a site.
