What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. At Leestown, we utilize PBIS as a proactive approach to promoting positive behavior in order to create a safe environment in which our students can learn. Students are taught a set of schoolwide expectations, which we call our “Guidelines for Success”, and are given opportunities to practice them throughout the day. These behavioral expectations are implemented and reinforced by our teachers and staff across all settings throughout the school.
