Air Conditioning Technology

Installing and servicing heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment is the focus of BCTC’s Air Conditioning Technology  program. Academic courses, theory courses, and laboratory experiences are designed to promote success in the air conditioning field. The BCTC’s program was in the top 20 HVAC schools in the nation.


The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry has a high demand for qualified technicians and Installers. Employment of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Candidates familiar with computers and electronics and those with good troubleshooting skills will have the best job opportunities as employers continue to have difficulty finding qualified technicians to install, maintain, and repair complex new systems.

Construction Technology

Prepare for an entry-level position in the construction industry with BCTC’s Construction Technology program! You'll learn about residential and light commercial construction applications. This program includes instructional units in:

Electrical Technology

The Electrical Technology program focuses on preparing students for entry-level electrician positions in industry and the building trades. The study of electrical theory and practical application of that theory provides the foundation of this program. Laboratory and classroom instruction include such topics as blueprint reading, motor controls, and residential wiring. Construction Electricity concentrates on residential electrical construction, and industrial electricity on industrial electrical construction.


If your desire is to become a professional Electrical Technology electrician, this program is for you. We offer three degree programs focused on three major areas in electrical wiring and construction. This program adds the National Electrical Code, rotating machines, and motor controls to the program core, and students take focused courses to complete each program. The three areas of specialization are: Industrial Electrician, Construction Electrician, and Motor Control Electrician. If you want to work as an Electrical Contractor this program will help you to understand much more than you could with job experience alone.
