Biotechnology Laboratory Technician Associate

Do you want to discover alternative energy sources? Search for cures to diseases? Protect the environment? Help feed the world? BCTC has the only two-year Biotechnology Laboratory Technician  program in Kentucky and this program is for you! You're someone who wants to learn more about the world around them and how to improve it through science. 

You'll learn technical practices and laboratory skills and utilize the latest technologies. Lab activities include DNA manipulation, genome exploration, biofuel production, and molecular gastronomy. You'll perform cutting-edge scientific research & take part in science outreach in the community. Gain the basic knowledge and lab skills needed for entry-level jobs in biotechnology. You'll develop skills in the basic analysis of DNA & proteins and more, including:

Environmental Science Technology Associate

Learn about protecting natural resources and enhancing human health in BCTC’s Environmental Science Technology (EST) program. You'll use the principles of science & engineering to sample and analyze natural resources. These resources include air, water, and soil and you'll process them while following state & federal regulations. This program includes:

Equine Studies Associate

The BCTC Equine Studies program provides instruction on essential skills required for a variety of careers in the horse industry. In BCTC’s equine barn, students receive hands-on instruction of basic horse care management and techniques to handle horses safely in various training situations.

Upon successful completion of the equine lab courses, in as little as one semester, students are eligible for internship placement at a variety of top equine operations around the world. Students can build upon their education and experience in a full-time internship and/or employment opportunity while completing their degree through the program’s online and hybrid course offerings which provide instruction on equine anatomy and physiology, nutrition, equine health and lameness, equine business principles and the life skills necessary for a successful career.
