One team per event.
Minecraft: 2-6 students
Mario Kart: 4 students
Super Smash Bros: 3 students
Each team should be comprised of different students to ensure more kids can compete. A student may serve as a sub on another team.
If not all students are present for competition and a sub is not available, team will automatically forfeit. A friendly competition can occur in its place but forfeiting team will automatically be disqualified from competition.
School must compete in at least 2 out of the 3 game titles.
To better prepare our students for Middle and High School competitions, coaches will be required to follow "Match" Rules:
Coaching during game play will not be permitted. Coaches may have TWO 30 second timeouts in between games per match. Timeouts should not impede the progress of the match.
Coaches are seated/standing in the viewing area. They are not allowed to be next to their team during game play.
Respectfully cheer on your team and maintain a model of sportsmanship and integrity.
Super Smash Bros has several characters that use weapons during game play. Our goal with this list is to identify characters whose weapons are realistic and could raise some concern with parents, administrators, and KDE. While these characters are not banned in Middle or High School PlayVS formats we are keeping in mind SSB is rated 10+ and we are working with elementary school programs.
