Encourage and prioritize participation from students who may not always feel included in traditional gaming communities, including females, students of color, students with IEPs, and others who are seeking a strong sense of community. Your club should be representative of your school.
To ensure a co-ed competition, we will be implementing a minimum of 1 female identifying student per competitive team.
Ideal number of student participants is 8-15. Year 2 coaches may seek to grow their club to include additional students who have a passion for gaming, but may not want to play competitively.
Competitive teams
1 competitive team per game title. Teams should be composed of different students. A student on one team can serve as a sub for another.
Minecraft- 2-6 students
Mario Kart- 4 students
Super Smash Bros- 3 students
Classified Staff: Hourly employees must clock out of regular job and then clock in to the supplemental position after regular work hours.
40 hour employee everything is charged as overtime so you effectively have fewer hours they are eligible. Check with your principal.
Ensure all students have opportunities to play and participate.
Keep club fun, safe, and inclusive. Do not tolerate or encourage smack talk.
Watch students' games and help them to develop strategies to improve their game play.
If any students do not wish to play competitively, that is ok! However, you will have to form your competitive teams for our district-wide competitions.
To better prepare our students for Middle and High School competitions, coaches will be required to follow "Match" Rules:
Coaching during game play will not be permitted. Coaches may have TWO 30 second timeouts in between games per match.
Coaches are seated/standing in the viewing area. They are not allowed to be right by their team.
Respectfully cheer on your team and maintain a model of sportsmanship and integrity.
If an issue arises, the coach and ONLY the coach, needs to make it be known at the start of a round.
