The Barnbow Lasses are a group of girls who had to make ammunition and explosives for tanks and the soldiers in World War 1. Since all the men had gone to war, there was only women left to make ammunition. 93%  of women/girls were in the Barnbow Lasses or at least helping the soldiers by providing weapons. The Challenger 1 and 2 tanks were built in Barnbow by these amazing ladies.
