Cross Country has historically been a very strong sport for us at Farnborough 6th Form. With so many students training and competing for local athletics clubs, we have a wealth of talent to select from. Cross Country events runs from September to April, followed by the track and field season in May to July.
Competitions:
Our Cross Country athletes compete in numerous events including the ESAA Cross Country Cup; Hampshire Schools & National Schools Cross Country Championships; AoC South East Regionals & National Cross Country Championships.
Our Track & Field athletes compete in events such as the Hampshire Schools & National Schools Championships; AoC Track & Field Championships; Hampshire Schools & National Schools Multi-Event Championships.
Management:
Generally, student athletes train with their local clubs so we don't have any scheduled sessions at the College. However, the athletes are brought together and managed by Sports Enrichment Coordinator Martin D'Mellow to compete for the college.
Golf is a fairly new, but growing sport at The Sixth Form College Farnborough.
The College Golf season runs through the first two terms of the year, from September to the very end of April.
Primarily on an individual basis, but also as a team (dependant on numbers), students compete at events around the country on the AoC Sport Intercollegiate Golf Tour. Performances across the initial 5 regional events can lead to qualification for the Intercollegiate Tour National Finals or selection to the South Team for the AoC Ryder Cup.
Although there is no specific training session at the college, entries are managed by Sports Enrichment Coordinator Martin D'Mellow.
A sport that we really want to grow at the college despite not having a swimming pool!
Entries into events are managed by Sports Enrichment Coordinator Martin D'Mellow.
2025-26 Events to be confirmed ...
Cricket at Farnborough 6th Form is primarily an outdoor summer sport, however we do take part in one indoor competition during the winter, so in essence, it is another sport that runs throughout the entire College year!
At present, we don't schedule regular training sessions, although in the lead up to the indoor competition we organise a few practices and then prior to the outdoor season we do the same.
Competitions:
The indoor competition we take part in is the AoC South East Regional Championships which can lead to qualification to the AoC National Finals.
Outdoors we compete in the AoC South East League and in the Altham Trophy 1-day Tournament.
Location: Home venue is onsite here at the College.
