UNIVERSAL PRE KINDERGARTEN 2026-2027
Farmingdale School district is offering full-day Universal Pre Kindergarten at NO cost to the families of the Farmingdale School District in 2026-2027. This program is completely funded by a New York State Grant. Your child MUST be registered in the district through student registration in order for them to be eligible to be entered into our lottery system and must be four years old by December 1, 2026 making them eligible to enter kindergarten in September 2027. All registered children will be eligible/entered into the lottery.
All classes are currently housed in all four of our elementary schools. Please see our FAQ document on the District website for more detailed information. Classes MUST be attended Monday through Friday. Transportation to and from the program WILL NOT be provided by the district.
APPLICATIONS FOR UNIVERSAL PRE KINDERGARTEN
2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Applications for the Universal Pre Kindergarten will be sent to those students who are selected from the UPK lottery. All registered students with the district will be eligible.
You can call the Student Registration Office at 516-434-5112 or email them at registration@farmingdaleschools.org for instructions on how to begin the registration process for the district. The UPK registration is separate and is done through the UPK office. 516-434-5799
We will hold the lottery Monday, March 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
Once the lottery is held, we will notify families via email that your child has secured a spot. Please make sure to have a current email on file with the district. You must respond via email that you are accepting the spot which needs to be done no later than Friday, March 27, 2026.
Soon after you will receive additional information regarding the program.
Please note -- Universal Pre Kindergarten is dependent on the inclusion in the state budget.
