Mike Grant: Head Coach, Sprints
Mike Grant is originally from Stillwater, MN and attended Mahtomedi High School. He attended Concordia College, and UND for his Masters. He began coaching track and field at Devils Lake High School, where he coached hurdles for two years. This is his 11th year coaching at Fargo South, where he has experience coaching hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and sprints. He is married to his wife Dani, and has two boys, Alex and Ben.
Ali Moody: Long Jump, Triple Jump
Ali Moody grew up in Dickinson, ND and moved to Fargo in 2013 to go to college and play volleyball at NDSU. In high school she participated in volleyball, basketball, and track & field. She's coached volleyball in some capacity for most of my adult life and is entering into her 3rd year as an assistant track & field coach at Fargo South High School. She loves working with the athletes here! As a full time job, she works as the school counselor at Ed Clapp Elementary. Ali is married and expecting her first child. She loves to spend time with family, be outdoors, and play volleyball.
Alex Koppy: Hurdles
Alex Koppy went to Mandan High where he participated in football, wrestling, and track & field. Koppy graduated NDSU with degrees in Mathematics and Math Education while participating in track for the Bison, primarily with the decathlon/heptathlon. He has coached 8 seasons of high school track for Fargo South, Fargo North, Oak Grove, and Marshalltown (Iowa). Alex enjoys playing track, running, golf, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
Alex Renner: Throws
Jack Pifer: High Jump
As a Fargo South High alum, Jack was a multiple time state qualifier in high jump. This is his third year coaching.
Jason Swier: Distance
Jason is from Watertown, SD. He graduated from MSUM, and has been teaching EL Social Studies for 12 years at Fargo South High School. Jason is in his 10th year coaching Track and Cross Country at South High, as an assistant coach in Track working with the distance group, and has served as the Head Girls Cross Country coach for the past 8 years. Jason is married to his wife Sarah, and they have two children – Liam and Leni.
