Team Policies

Policies:

All parents/guardians and players will follow the policies and expectations set forth by the state, district, school and team.

    • A link to the Activities Handbook in located on the main page of Davies Activities.

Academics:

      • A school official may hold a player out from participating if their grades don't meet school criteria.

      • A player may be deemed ineligible at the time of school grade checks and will not be eligible until the next grade check.

      • Once their coach receives a grade update with a passing grade(s), the player will be allowed to participate in games.

Attendance:

      • All players must attend all classes during the day in order to practice or play in a game (exceptions are made for verified appointments or excused emergencies).

      • If you have any outstanding detentions, please take care of those as this could effect your participation.

      • All players must be ready to go on time for all practices and games. If a player is unable to be on time or make a practice or game, they must have notified a coach personally (not through a teammate) before the fact. Excused absences or tardiness include reasons such as academics, family, health or if a coach deems it excusable and must be notified well in advance.

              1. Players will receive a 1 game suspension for the first offense.

              2. Players will receive a 2 game suspension for the second offense.

              3. Players will be dismissed from the team for the third offense.

Behavior:

      • All players will show respect to parents/guardians, coaches, umpires, teammates and other teams at all times. All players must conduct themselves as gentleman and realize they are representing themselves, their family, their community, and Davies High School.

Dress Code:

      • Players will arrive dressed in their uniforms for games. Dressing in the dugouts is not permitted.

      • All players are to wear the team cardinal baseball shirts under their uniform (long or short). You may purchase via the apparel link on the home page (posted at the call-out meeting).

      • Players are to wear Davies apparel for games and practices. We want to look like a team and show school pride!

      • Any additional rules may be established at the discretion of the coaching staff at any point during the season.

      • The coaching staff will immediately deal with a player in violation of the policies.

Communication:

      • Please follow the communication process in the following order. If a step is skipped, you will need to return to the step that was skipped. If your questions and/or concerns are not answered you may continue to the next step. Also, please allow 24 hours from the time issue occurred.

              2. Player, parent or guardian, and two coaches meeting

              3. Player, parent or guardian, coaches, and Activities Director meeting
