Before the season, Kaitlyn Cooper was named the 13th head coach in program history. In her first season, the Diplomats ended the year 7-24 and 2-13 against Centennial Conference Opponents. The 2022-23 season saw Franklin & Marshall earn three wins at the Spring Games to open the season. After returning to Lancaster, F&M claimed conference wins against McDaniel (4/16) and Haverford (4/22). Before the win against the Fords, Cooper was presented the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's (NFHCA) Leadership and Impact Award. Franklin & Marshall found a solid pitcher in first year Ainsley McClure as she posted a team-low ERA of 3.38 and picked up five wins in her rookie season. With eight first year players on the team, the Diplomats have a lot to be excited about in the near-future.
The Diplomats opened the 2022-23 campaign with a 3-2 walk-off win against Hamilton (3/12).
F&M held off Geneva 4-3 on the second day of The Spring Games (3/13).
Ainsley McClure struck out a season-high 12 batters in the wins against Hamilton (3/12) and McDaniel (4/16).
Kat Gunther homered twice in the Diplomats' 7-2 win over Lake Forest (3/18).
Hannah Matusiak had a three-RBI double in the seventh in game two against McDaniel (4/16).
Megan Wiarda tallied a team-high three RBI in the 6-2 win over Haverford (4/22).
Ainsley McClure struck out seven and only allowed three hits in the complete game shutout over Cabrini, 5-0 (4/20).
