The Franklin & Marshall volleyball team (4-3) will remain on the road as it heads to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the Trinity Fall Classic. The Diplomats will face Whittier (3-3) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. before matching up against No. 12 Trinity at 2:30 p.m. on the same day. F&M then close out the tournament with a tilt against Pomona-Pitzer the following day at 12:30 p.m.
Last Week
The Diplomats went 1-2 on its road trip, falling to No. 11 NYU and Springfield, before sweeping Montclair State. F&M battled tough against the nationally ranked Violets, taking a set off of NYU and keeping the deficit in each frame to within four. Read the full recap here.

Last Time vs. Whittier
The two team last met in 2004 at the Pacific Coast Volleyball Classic, where the Poets defeated F&M in four sets. All-time assists per set leader Jackie Skibbie racked up 52 assists en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team. Read the full recap here.

F&M fell to the Tigers, 3-0 in its 2006 matchup. Margo Phelan, who ranks second all-time in kills, led the team with nine digs.
Last Time vs. Pomona-Pitzer
The Diplomats knocked off the Sagehens, 3-1 in the 2018 Pacific Coast Classic. Each set was decided by four points or less, with F&M claiming the final two stanzas. Grace Maggiore registered 27 assists, while Carly Ostrowski totaled 21 digs. Read the full recap here.
Whittier Team Preview
The Poets enter the tournament with a 3-3 record and having taken part in both the Pacific Coast Classic as well as the WC Invitational. The Trinity Fall Classic will be the team's final set of non-conference matches as it will turn its focus to SCIAC play afterwards. Riley DeGroot leads Whittier with 71 kills while Nadine Oronoz has tallied a team-high 63 digs.
Trinity Team Preview
Coming off of a national championship game appearance in 2022, the Tigers have started the 2023 campaign, 4-3. After getting out to a 3-0 start, Trinity lost three of its next four contests, including defeats to No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and No. 17 Tufts. Brette Thorton ranks top-15 in the country in blocks with 33 while Jenna Rodriguez has collected 104 digs.
Pomona-Pitzer Team Preview
Much like Whittier, the Sagehens also took part in the Pacific Coast Classic, and have gotten out to a 4-3 start on the year. Key wins for Pomona-Pitzer include defeats of No. 25 Wisconsin-Eau Claire and No. 19 UC Santa Cruz. The Sage Ducks have also not been swept this season, taking at least one set off of each opponent. Corrina Benson is the SCIAC leader in both digs and serving aces with 132 and 14, respectively.
