The Blue Jays defeated the Diplomats 3-0 in their last meeting in 2022.
After getting tripped up at Swarthmore for its first conference loss of the season, the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team (9-6, 7-1 CC) will look to finish the season strong against McDaniel and Johns Hopkins. It will be the final two regular season contests for the Diplomats, who will compete in the Centennial Conference tournament beginning on Tuesday, October 31.
F&M is currently in second place of the conference, with a potential rematch against the Garnet in the first round of the tournament if the current standings hold. The Diplomats can also jump to the top spot if they win both of their tilts this week, and would play the fourth place team in the opening round.
Last Week
In its lone game of the week, F&M fell to Swarthmore, 4-0 on the road on Wednesday night. For the first time on the season, the Diplomats failed to register a shot on goal, and took just eight total shots. Swarthmore was aided by three different goal scorers, including a two-goal game from Katherine Kohn. The loss ended an eight-game winning streak for the Diplomats, and marked the first time the Garnet defeated F&M since 2007.
Last Time vs. McDaniel
Traveling to Westminster, Md., the Diplomats raced past McDaniel, 5-1. In just the first half, Sophie Carroll found the back of the cage twice, while Keira Boensch and Katie Roper each scored a goal. In the third quarter, Boensch scored again, joining Carroll as a multi-goal scorer on the day. All three goalkeepers saw time in net for F&M and faced just one shot. The contest was the regular season finale for the Diplomats, who finished 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
Last Time vs. Johns Hopkins
Playing host to No. 7 Johns Hopkins in 2022, the Diplomats were outmatched by the Blue Jays, losing 3-0. Johns Hopkins quickly took a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute before doubling the advantage with a goal in the 29th minute. Grace Nockolds added a final tally for the Blue Jays in the fourth quarter, as F&M was limited to zero shots on the day.
It was the first time that the Diplomats were held shot-less under the leadership of head coach Kaitlyn Eager.

Johns Hopkins Team Preview
Fresh off of a national championship appearance in 2022, the Blue Jays have remained dominant this season, posting a 14-1 record while remaining unbeaten in conference play.
