The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (10-2-3, 4-2-2 CC), a team receiving votes in the national poll, starts a two-game road trip to end the regular season. The Diplomats play at Gettysburg (6-6-3, 3-3-2 CC) Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. F&M will then finish the regular season with a matchup against No. 3 Johns Hopkins (13-0-2, 8-0 CC) Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
Last Week
Franklin & Marshall defeated Lebanon Valley 2-1 Wednesday afternoon in the Diplomats final non-conference game of the season. Sierra Brophy opened the scoring with a goal off a rebound in the 14th minute for her team-leading 11th goal of the season. In the 42nd minute, Dahlia Pepe found the back of the net off a free kick to put F&M up 2-0. The Diplomats outshot the Dutchmen 30-7 in the win. Read the recap here.
The Diplomats beat Ursinus 2-1 Saturday evening on Senior Night. Alison Francis scored the opening goal in the fourth minute on a feed from Sophie Koziol. Kate Boujoukos cushioned the Diplomats lead in the 43rd minute on a header off a corner kick. Dahlia Pepe sent a perfect cross into the box that Boujokos headed into the open part of the net for her first career score. F&M totaled 20 shots with 11 on target in the match. Read the recap here.
Last Time
F&M and Gettysburg faced off twice during the 2021 campaign. The first meeting between the two programs last season ended in a 1-1 draw. Meg O'Callahan scored the game-tying goal in the 79th minute of the match. Emily Senko made seven saves in net to keep the game even. Read the recap here.
The two programs met again in the first round of the Centennial Conference playoffs, where F&M came out on top 1-0. Meg O'Callahan scored the game-winner in the second minute of the game. Emily Senko saved eight shots to keep Gettysburg off the scoreboard. The Diplomats finished with 13 shots with six on goal. Read the recap here.
The Diplomats also played Johns Hopkins twice during the 2021 season. The No. 2 Blue Jays beat F&M 1-0 in the first meeting between the two teams.
Franklin & Marshall got revenge in the CC semifinals when the Diplomats upset No. 2 JHU, 1-0. Sierra Brophy scored the game-winning goal in the 23rd minute as she placed her shot just out of reach of the diving goalkeeper. Read the recap here.
Gettysburg Team Preview
Gettysburg comes into Wednesday's matchup after picking up wins against Catholic and Haverford. With Saturday's win against Haverford, the Bullets have three wins against CC teams this season after they defeated Bryn Mawr and Ursinus earlier this season. Jordan Weinberg leads the team in both points (eight) and goals (four) this season. Goalkeeper Caitlin Amman has a 0.62 goals-against average and a save percentage of 82.5 percent.
Johns Hopkins Team Preview
No. 3 Johns Hopkins is undefeated with two ties this season. The Blue Jays had back-to-back draws in early September against No. 17 Messiah and No. 15 Carnegie Mellon. Johns Hopkins sports the seventh-ranked scoring offense in Division III, averaging 4.13 goals per game. Rebecca Rosen leads the Blue Jays in points (27) and goals (11) this season. Goalkeeper Emma Huntzinger holds a goals-against average of 0.48 with a save percentage of 76.2 percent.
