Last Week

F&M outlasted the Blue Jays 2-1 Wednesday night. Meg O'Callahan buried her second goal of the season to get the scoring started for the Diplomats in the 30th minute. F&M added an insurance goal in the 80th minute from Bri Skidmore that was assisted by Zoe Warne. The Diplomats controlled the offensive area, sending 13 shots on goal compared to Etown's four on target. Read the recap here.

Franklin & Marshall finished in a 0-0 tie against Washington & Lee Saturday afternoon. Both teams had an even number of opportunities to open the scoring, but the chances were turned away by strong defensive plays the entire game. Amanda Imhauser and Sierra Brophy created chances in the first half, but we're denied by two great plays made by the W&L goalkeeper. Emma Nolan saved two shots in the first 10 minutes of the match, while the Diplomat defense made a huge save in the 62nd minute to shutdown all of W&L's attempts. Read the recap here.

Last Time

The Diplomats shutout Marywood 6-0 in their 2021 matchup that saw four different players score goals for the blue and white. Alison Francis was a huge playmaker in the win, starting with an assist on Sierra Brophy's goal 38 seconds into the match. In the 16th minute, Francis put F&M up 2-0 after a scramble in front of the net for the loose ball. Francis later put the finishing touches on the win with a goal in the 90th minute. Like Francis, Bri Skidmore stood out on the stat sheet as she recorded a goal in each half. Skidmore also assisted on Dahlia Pepe's goal in the 61st minute. F&M dominated Marywood in shots, 29-5. Franklin & Marshall and Washington failed to score a goal in two overtime periods to tie 0-0 in last season's game. The Diplomats racked up shots with 19 total, but couldn't get one to cross the goal line. Meg O'Callahan led the game in shots with four. Sierra Brophy and Bri Skidmore each had three shots in the match. The F&M defense only faced one shot from the Shorewomen, which was saved by the Diplomats goalkeeper, Sara Ghorashi '21. Opening on a High Note

F&M's last win in its Centennial Conference opener came in 2019 in a 1-0 victory against Muhlenberg. On a corner kick in the 40th minute, Sarah Marsen '21 sent a crossing pass into the box that found the foot of Teresa Meyer. Meyer deflected the pass to Anna Coleman, who rocketed a shot into the bottom-right corner of the net to give the Diplomats the lead. Ghorashi '21 saved all seven shots faced to shutout the Mules. Getting Open Looks

In the first four games of the season, Sierra Brophy has continuously kept opposing defenses on their heels. Brophy leads the team in goals with four thanks to good shot selection and finding herself in open situations. In four games, the junior forward has taken 10 shots, with eight being on target. Against Rutgers-Newark, Brophy scored her third career hat trick on four shots.

Marywood Team Preview

After beating Keystone 7-0 in their season opener, the Pacers have struggled to get back in the win column. Marywood lost to Swarthmore 3-1 before being shutout 6-0 to tenth-ranked Scranton. In its last game, Marywood got out to a 1-0 lead on Eastern in the 57th minute of the match, but the Pacers couldn't hold off the Eagles as EU tied the game just three minutes later. Neither team could find the back of the net for the rest of regulation, as the match finished in a 1-1 draw. Forward Victoria Tzitzis leads the Pacers in points (nine) and goals (four). Goalkeeper Rebekah Becker has a 2.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of 76.7 percent, starting in all four games this season.
