The 25th-ranked Franklin & Marshall (4-0-2, 0-0-1 CC) women's soccer team kicks off a two-game road trip against Muhlenberg (1-4-1, 0-1 CC) on Wednesday, and Penn State-Harrisburg (4-1-2, 1-0 UEC) on Saturday. Both games start at 7:00 p.m.
Last Week
F&M rolled to a 7-0 victory over Marywood Tuesday evening. Alison Francis scored goals in both the 28th and 51st minute of the match. Dahlia Pepe tallied three assists in the win, dishing one to Francis on her 28th minute goal. Pepe also assisted on Lillian Williams' goal in the 68th minute, and Anna Ellwood's score in the 74th minute. Meg O' Callahan and Sierra Brophy both recorded three points, with a goal and an assist each. Emily Cleary also scored her first goal of the season in the win. Read the recap here.
The Diplomats played to a scoreless tie against Washington Saturday afternoon. It was F&M's second scoreless draw of the season, with the first coming against Washington & Lee. Francis had F&M's best look in the 37th minute as her shot cleared the WAC goalkeeper. However, a Washington defender blocked the path of the attempt by heading the ball away from the goal line. Emma Nolan had a huge save to keep the game tied in the 83rd minute. After colliding with a Washington forward, Nolan stopped a shot by reaching her left arm out to swat the ball out of the air. During last season's matchup, the Diplomats shut out the Mules en route to a 2-0 win. Haley Barge '21 scored the games opening goal with 18 seconds remaining in the first half. Sierra Brophy scored an insurance goal in the 70th minute of the match. The Diplomats peppered the Muhlenberg net, outshooting the Mules 23-3. The last meeting between F&M and Penn State-Harrisburg took place during the 2016 season, where the Diplomats won 2-0 over the Lions. Kyra Judge's goal in the 13th minute and Reanna Leoni's score in the 32nd minute helped F&M claim the win. Nicole Savidge '16 made six total saves with five clutch stops in the second half. The Mules look to get back on track after dropping two games to FDU-Florham and McDaniel. Muhlenberg's only win this season came against Catholic in a final score of 1-0. The Mules also had a scoreless draw against Lebanon Valley earlier this fall. Muhlenberg's two goals this season were scored by midfielders Bri Astbury and Eliana Nelson-Levy. After a 4-1 loss to York (Pa.), the Lions started a four-game win streak, defeating Bryn Mawr, Hood, Albright, and Penn State-Abington. Forward Kylee Altland leads the Lions in points (10) and goals (four). Altland is also tied with forward Isabelle Toni for the team high in assists with two. Goalkeeper Sydney Mulka holds a 0.92 goals-against average and a save percentage of 76 percent.
