Franklin & Marshall baseball (0-2) gears up for a busy week that includes four non-conference road games. The Diplomats take on Cabrini (1-0) on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. F&M then begins a weekend series at Hampden-Sydney (3-0) where it will play a double-header on Saturday starting at noon. The third game against the Tigers will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Last Week
F&M fell in both games of its double-header at Kean Saturday afternoon. The Cougars took game one, 7-1, before shutting out the Diplomats, 1-0, in game two. Tommy Denlinger got the first hit of the 2023 season on a single up the middle to start game one. Denlinger then came around to score on an error for F&M's only run of the day.
Both games starting pitchers were solid for Franklin & Marshall as they each threw five innings, striking out three and allowing one earned run each. Dan Galef had a nice showing on the mound in relief as he struck out the side in the eighth inning of game two. Read the full recap here.

The last time Hampden-Sydney and Franklin & Marshall squared off was the Diplomats season opener in 2019. F&M took game one of the double-header, 3-2, before completing the sweep with a 10-4 victory in game two. F&M pieced together a total of 21 hits on the afternoon. F&M starting pitching also struck out a combined 10 batters in the double-header with Jonathan Cole '20 tossing six in game one, followed by Jack Buckley '19 firing four in game two. Cabrini Team Preview
The Cavaliers opened their season with a 12-2 victory over Cairn Wednesday afternoon. Center fielder Dustin Sutton, left fielder Zack Brook, and designated hitter Jake Eagle each recorded two hits and two RBI in the game to lead Cabrini's offense. Starting pitcher Pat Toal (1-0) tossed eight strikeouts with no earned runs in four innings pitched.
