First Annual PUMPKIN PROJECTS
(contests, carvings, photos, videos, posters, pies, stories)
Pick a pumpkin project (see possibilities list below or create your own) and share in a video or photo or story what you did or learned.
"I don't understand. What am I supposed to do with this pumpkin?"
"Eat it. Carve it. Count the seeds. Tell a story about it."
"Is this like a contest or an assignment or something you are supposed to do and learn things about or an experiment or supposed to be fun?"
"Yes."
1. Guess how many seeds. Count the seeds.
2. Roast and salt and eat the seeds.
3. Create Jack-O-Lantern by carving or painting.
4. Make a video or photo essay of you destroying the pumpkin. How many rubber bands fit around the pumpkin before it will explode?
5. Make a video or photo essay or write a story about you befriending the pumpkin and living with it like Tom Hanks did with the volleyball Wilson in the movie Castaway.
6. Cut pumpkin in half and give the other half to someone else and see who can make the best pie or other recipe.
7. List things that you would rather have than a pumpkin, and what you would do with them, and then think about how the pumpkin would feel after reading this list.
8. Create a comic or drawing or poster or joke or painting or religion or essay or poem or story or song or screenplay or movie based on or directly about or tangentially related to pumpkins, or your specific pumpkin.
9. Plant the seeds and water the seeds and see what grows.
