We are thrilled to announce a new and inspiring partnership between BASE25 and the acclaimed contemporary dance company, Company Chameleon. This exciting initiative is focused on building confidence, creativity, and self-expression in lower school boys through the power of dance.
Throughout the academic year, Company Chameleon will work closely with selected groups of boys from the lower school, delivering a dynamic dance programme designed to develop both technical ability and personal growth. Weekly workshops will provide a supportive and energetic space for students to explore movement, improve coordination, and build confidence—all while having fun and working as a team.
A key feature of this partnership is the opportunity for the boys to perform. These performances, which will take place both in school and in the wider community, are a celebration of their progress and a powerful way to share their achievements with others. Through these experiences, students not only grow as dancers but also as individuals, learning resilience, discipline, and the value of creative expression.
We’re also proud to share that Company Chameleon will be giving a special live performance at our school in April as part of the celebrations for International Dance Day. This event is a fantastic opportunity for students, staff, and the wider community to experience the magic of professional contemporary dance up close, and to be inspired by the possibilities of movement and storytelling through dance.
At the heart of this project is a commitment to challenging stereotypes and encouraging inclusivity. By making dance more accessible and relevant to boys, we hope to open doors to new passions and empower every student to express themselves fully.
Stay tuned for updates and performance dates as this exciting journey unfolds. We can’t wait to see what our students will achieve—and we hope you’ll join us in supporting them every step of the way.
Congratulations to Year 13 student Marshall Wilson, who has successfully auditioned for the National Youth Dance Company (NYDC). As part of this year’s cohort, Marshall is working with leading hip hop and contemporary company Boy Blue on a new piece titled Gravity.
He is currently touring the production both nationally and internationally—an exciting opportunity that marks a significant step in his dance journey. We’re really proud of Marshall’s achievement and look forward to seeing how he gets on with the next stage of his dance journey when he joins - Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance
