Meeting the Needs of Individual Students in Their Completion and Review Academic and Career Plan Documents
Each student in the School District of Fall Creek from grade 5 to 12 is assigned to an activity/homeroom group consisting of a staff advisor and 15-25 students. Students update their Career Portfolios yearly with career interests. They also accumulate artifacts from K to 12 grade in the career portfolios and/or in Xello.
Connecting Students and Staff as They Participate in Academic and Career Planning
Middle School
Middle School students are assigned to a Fall Creek staff member and they report to their homeroom class daily. Each Monday these groups of students participate in community-building activities, which allows for connections with other students, the staff, and the school creating a positive environment to learn and grow. Students at Fall Creek Middle School participate in PBL (Project Based Learning) throughout their middle school career. In 2022, the middle school implemented Launch. Launch gives the opportunity for students to take charge of their learning. Students who are not in band and choir are required to choose a topic that they are passionate about, research it, and display their knowledge under the guidance of their homeroom teacher. Also in homeroom, middle school students are given tools to be more aware of social-emotional needs and allow students opportunities to express themselves in a variety of ways.
High School
Students in Fall Creek High School are placed with a homeroom advisor and they report to their specified Cricket Time teacher daily. Their homeroom teacher stays the same for the entirety of the student's high school career. During Cricket Time students are given support (on an individual basis if needed) and do grade level career exploration research and opportunities.
