Middle College Program

The FDU Middle College Program gives our students the opportunity to earn college credits before they even graduate high school and without ever leaving the building. Students enrolled in pre-approved courses at FLHS may choose to register with FDU for a fee to earn college credit.

Quick Facts about the Program

  • The tuition cost (paid to FDU) for the 2021-2022 school year is $267 per course

  • Courses taken through the Middle College Program may be used for elective credits to meet college graduation requirements

  • In most cases, a maximum amount of twelve college credits may be accrued while in high school

  • The student must receive a final grade of “C” or better in order to receive the three college credits from Fairleigh Dickinson University for the course

  • You may list courses taken at Fairleigh Dickinson University as college courses on most college applications. It will be at the discretion of the receiving institution to accept or deny these courses

  • At the conclusion of the academic year, your teacher will submit your final grade for your Middle College course(s) to Fairleigh Dickinson University. Your grade will be recorded on an official transcript

  • In most cases, a maximum amount of twelve college credits may be accrued while in high school

Bergen Community College:
Early College Program

Students entering their Junior year (11th grade) are eligible for the BCC Early College Program, which allows them to attend FLHS and BCC as full-time students during their Junior and Senior years. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive their high school diploma AND an Associates Degree from Bergen Community College when they graduate high school.

Quick Facts About the Program

  • Required minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Earn an Associate's Degree by the time you graduate high school

  • Attend BCC in the morning and FLHS in the afternoon, 5 days a week

Bergen Community College:
College Experience Program

The College Experience Program allows seniors with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher to enroll in courses at BCC. Eligible students must take three (3) credits each per Fall and Spring semesters, and will be permitted to take up to six (6) credits each semester. Students must take the ACCUPLACER (basic skills test) and place into both English and Math college level courses.

Providing all FLHS graduation requirements are being met, seniors enrolled in the College Experience Program may take a half day schedule and leave Fair Lawn after 5th period.
