Welcome to
8th Grade Orientation at
Fair Lawn High School

We are excited to share our academic, athletic and extracurricular programs with you as you begin to plan for your High School career in the Fall of 2024.

This website will guide you through all the programs and opportunities Fair Lawn High School offers its students.

Fair Lawn High School is home to over 1500 students. We are on the Niche.com list of best High Schools in America, putting our high school in the top 3% in the country.  US News and World Report ranked FLHS within the top 7% of public high schools in the nation.

We offer 26 AP courses, numerous academic and elective courses including dual-college enrollment, inclusive of a concurrent Associate’s Degree Program, over 60 student activities, 9 honor societies and 27 varsity sports.  Students participate in engineering and design projects in our newly renovated STEAM lab.  Our approved CTE sequence in Architecture and Design is taught in this lab!

Our performing arts programs - Band, Orchestra, Chorus, American Musical Theater, Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, Color Guard, Masques Dramatic Theater and the School Musical - are all award-winning programs.  In the Spring of 2019, these programs inducted their first class into the FLHS Performing Arts Hall of Fame.  FLHS’s annual fundraiser, “Marathon,” raises thousands of dollars for local organizations and charities.

Last school year, FLHS garnered league championships in Boys Volleyball, Girls Tennis, Ice Hockey and Girls Lacrosse. Our Boys Volleyball team also won the Bergen County Championship for the 8th consecutive year as well as winning the NJSIAA Sectional Championship for the 4th year in a row. Approximately 900 students participate in our athletic programs during the school year.  Since 2006, the FLHS Athletic Hall of Fame has been honoring individual athletes, teams and coaches who have attained outstanding records of accomplishment in their respective careers while attending Fair Lawn High School.

FLHS has an actively involved Student Government Association that dialogues monthly with the Board of Education.  We have over 60 active clubs and 9 content-specific honor societies.  These activities are designed to meet a wide range of student interests, and new activities are created every year.
