  3. Find connections between your life in America with this person's life in the country you studied.

In Culturegrams look at another country from the list, BUT from a DIFFERENT CONTINENT

1. Look at the Lifestyle and Culture sections

  • List four major differences in the lifestyle and culture BETWEEN the 2 countries.


2. How have the PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS in these countries affected the DIFFERENCE in lifestyle and culture.

"I'm Thinking of a Place" Game

Create a game board making up 9 clues about your country and share the game board with a friend. See if they can guess your country based off the clues that you provided. See sample clue questions below.

  • Clue #1: What hemisphere is your location in?

  • Clue #2: Find a body of water near your location and give a relative location of it

  • Clue #3: Create a clue about the Food, schools, or life as a kid

  • Clue #4: Name a landform in your location

  • Clue #5: What is the official language or languages of your location

  • Clue #6: What is the government

  • Clue #7: Name an important natural resource

  • Clue #8: What is the religion or favorite sport of this location

  • Clue #9: Name the capital of this location


Design a Country

Challenge students to dream up their own countries and to create maps of those countries. The maps should show natural (rivers, mountains) and man-made (highways, major cities) features. Students should name their countries, decide which products will provide the economic basis of their country, and include any significant landmarks or tourist attractions.

Be sure they include a key for the map.
