The Aquaculture Center is a specialized education program which focuses on science & technology related to the marine environment. Students who participate in this program apply and are chosen based on their interest in, and aptitude for, science and technology. We are a very competitive program and focus on cultivating critical thinking and problem solving skills throughout all of our course offerings. Students are provided opportunities in both science & technology education which are unprecedented in comprehensive high school programs.

Students have two program options for their course of studies at the Aquaculture School:
The Exploratory Program = Grades 9-12
Bridgeport Aquaculture College Alliance (BACA) Program = For 12th grade students who have expressed a desire for a concentrated, interdisciplinary approach to science & aquaculture education.

The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is the largest high school system in Connecticut, serving all geographic regions and all demographic and diverse populations. They currently operate 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs located throughout the state.
The system serves approximately 11,200 full-time high school students. They offer a comprehensive high school and Career Technical Education in 31 occupational careers. The occupational careers are within 12 career clusters. In addition, the CTECS serves adult education students in aviation and apprenticeships programs.
If interested, students in grades 8-10 have the opportunity to apply to one or more of the following CTECS technical high schools:

Regional Center for the Arts is a performing arts magnet high school program serving students in Grades 9-12. RCA's student body serves students in the greater Bridgeport region and reflects the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of students in that area. Students attend their local public high schools in the morning and attend RCA Monday through Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00. Elective high school credits, which may be applied toward graduation requirements at the discretion of the sending school district, are earned at the school through the study of dance, theater, musical theater, film/video production, and creative script writing. Through these departments, the courses provide a broad understanding of the history and criticism of the arts through interdisciplinary study. RCA's performing arts training program is designed to prepare students to pursue professional careers and post-secondary studies. The curriculum is professionally oriented, highly structured and academically rigorous. Commitment to serious study is expected of all students. Course credit will be given in accordance with the policy of the local high school.
Who May Participate:
Placements for the Regional Center for the Arts are open to interested high school students from the school districts involved in the Center. Students must possess a strong desire to learn and must demonstrate above average skill and potential in the arts.
