The art room is always looking for extra supplies. Mostly items you're already going to recycle or throw away!
All donations can be brought to the art room or put in Mrs. Gorruso's mailbox. (Students can also bring in specific art supplies for their own personal use--especially if it's something we don't have in the classroom.) Thank you!
Chop Sticks / Bamboo Skewers
Small Cardboard or Plastic Containers (4"x4" or smaller) (Yogurt cups, soap boxes, empty spice bottles, etc.)
Straws
Packing peanuts
Cotton balls
Beads
Any knick-knack you think kids could use!
We would LOVE to have you visit our art classroom. Please email me so that we can set up a date and time. Depending on the project, you never know what we'll be working on or how messy it will get!
All volunteers need to fill out this form and contact Cindy Sacco in Human Resources at (203) 255-8462.
Kids: Try your best! Some things may come easy to you, some may not. Don't be afraid to try something you've never done. "Everyone has talent, it's just a matter of moving around until you've discovered what it is." - George Lucas. Pay attention to the demonstrations, ask questions, get messy, experiment, and create something new! The most important thing is to work hard and HAVE FUN! "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." - Maya Angelou
Parents: Ask your child questions about what they made in class that day. Show your children you can make personal connections to: artwork, various materials, subject matter, artists, and/or art making techniques. If you want to see your child in action, email me to sign-up to be a classroom volunteer for the day. Call or email me if you ever have any questions.
