A little bit about Mrs. Gorruso...
This is my 18th year teaching elementary art! My 4th year teaching at Jennings, and my 1st year teaching at Stratfield. (I've previously taught for 4 years at Monroe Elementary School, 6 years at Middlebrook Elementary School and 8 year at McKinley Elementary School)
I have a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Counseling and a double major in Psychology from The University of Connecticut. I have an Art Education certification and a masters degree from SCSU, and a 6th year in from SNHU. I am currently working on earning my 7th year in art education with the American College of Education.
I have two children (Matthew 8, & Samantha 10), a dog (Lexi), two cats (Newman & Lola), and one husband (Josh)
I enjoy wearing crazy earrings (and have over 150 pairs!)
Claude Monet is my favorite artist
My favorite foods flavors are crunchy & cheesy
Pencil (observational drawing) and arranging flowers are my favorite art mediums
I enjoy spending my time gardening, volunteering with Samantha's Girl Scout troop, camping, doing jigsaw puzzles, volunteering at TAILS animal shelter, & teaching swimming and horseback riding lessons
If I could go anywhere in the world, I would revisit Maui, HI
