What is an Exchange program?
Through the bilateral agreements established by the University of Bucharest with various universities (partnerships that are not part of the Erasmus program), students of the University of Bucharest can benefit from a semester or an academic year (depending on the type of agreement) at one of the partner institutions.
Students wishing to participate in this type of mobility must meet the following conditions:
The student must have completed all required coursework;
At the time of application, the student cannot be in their final year of studies.
What does the Exchange Mobility cover?
Exchange mobility involves a waiver of tuition fees.
All other expenses (transportation, accommodation, subsistence, fees for the residence card and other related expenses) will be personally covered by the student.
1. Nomination by the University of Bucharest
Every Faculty of the the University of Bucharest must send a list of nominated students to the International Relations Office in order to communicate with the host university.
In order to nominate the desired students, we kindly ask our faculties' international representatives to contact the person in charge at the International Relations Office.

2. Prepare your admission file
Read carefully the following list where you can find all the mandatory documents needed in order to have a valid file:
Faculty nomination / acceptance
International passport
Birth certificate
High school diploma and transcript of records, if you are applying for a bachelor's exchange programme
Bachelor's diploma and transcript of records, if you are applying for a master's exchange programme
Current transcript of records
Medical certificate (Please note that the Partner University may require a full medical check-up. The student in entirely responsible to check on the website of the Partner University to make sure they meet their requirements in terms of documents).
Please note that the Partner University may require additional documents and also the translation (or legalisation) of the documents.
All the documents submitted through the platform should be renamed according to the following pattern: Type of document. Surname
example: Highschool Diploma.[your surname]
3. Apply on the admission platform
Using the admission button, you can access the dedicated platform where you must submit all the required documents and fill all the mandatory information in order to generate your admission file.
Admission deadline (may differ depending on the Partner Universty's admisison schedule):
July 1st, 2025 (for fall semester)
November 20th, 2025 (for spring semester)
The omission on the admission platform of any of the above mentioned documents will invalidate your submitted file!
4. Wait for the Invitation Letter from the Host University
Once you have successfully sent your documentation, you have to wait for the issuing of the Invitation Letter from the Host University.
Be aware that the process can take a minimum of 30 working days. As soon as the Host University will issue the letter, you will receive a confirmation email from the University of Bucharest.
5. Obtain the Study Visa
Please verify if the romanian passport does require a study visa!
You have to apply for the study visa at the Embassy of the Country of the Host University in Romania or at the nearest diplomatic mission.
The University of Bucharest is NOT involved in the process of obtaining the study visa.
For further information we kindly ask you to see the list below.
Do not leave original documents at the embassy, only copies, as you will need them at the enrollment. Without original documents, enrollment is not possible!
6. Contact the Host University for information regarding the enrollment
After obtaining the Invitation Letter and the study visa (if required), you must contact the host university and follow their instructions about the enrollment.
Make sure that you contact the host university as soon as possible in order not to miss the enrollment deadline.
7. Enroll at the Host University
Please follow the instructions indicated by the host university.
