Professional Portfolio Development Opportunities

Shape your future here

During the course of your study there are opportunities for you to enroll in internships, short-term placements and the Professional Training Year placements. We outline examples of these and guidance on securing them. Additionally, you can see examples of graduate opportunities from the Medical Sciences programme with advice from Alumni. These are all Professional Portfolio Development Opportunities (PPD Ops) for you.

Students have over the years asked where their degree programmes lead them to after graduation. We have acquired testimonials from our alumni about where they are in their career or postgraduate training, and how their education here in Medical Sciences helped bolster their chances of achieving their goals. Click on the menu options to go to our Alumni statements and find out about graduate opportunities.

Undertaking a Professional Training Year (PTY) placement, here in the UK or abroad, teaches you about future career opportunities, further education and yourself, whilst having fun, a chance to publish research papers and attend conferences, and sometimes, even earning money! For more information, to hear from PTY students themselves about applications and read testimonials from previous students, click on the menu options.

Internships and placements provide great opportunities for you to develop your skills set and gain professional experience whilst studying or during the holidays. Internships are an excellent way to get a taste of what a career in that field would be like. For more information on summer internships and placements click on the menu options.
