Executive Director - Margaret Elmer is an Oakland native. A graduate of Oakland High School, Ms. Elmer holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. Ms. Elmer completed her studies inSt Mary’s College, Department of Education in Moraga, California. Ms. Elmer has been an educator for over 20 years, and holds several educational credentials. She has always strived to remain at the forefront of breaking down the educational barriers for all children in the Bay Area.
Board Director - Phyllis McFee-Morton has been a resident of Oakland for 65 years and she is a graduate of Fremont High and Cal State Hayward. Phyllis has a background in Tax Planning, Community Law and, computer programming. Phyllis has retired after 36 years of administrative service with the Oakland Unified School District and her commitment to the children of Oakland has always been her top priority.
Board Director - Gregg Hood has been involved with Arts and Education in Oakland for over 15 years and is a graduate of San Francisco State University. Gregg's background is in instruction, operations, program development, and administration for art-based community service organizations.
Board Director - Chantal Bush was born in Queens, NY. Ms. Bush moved to California with the goal to receive a business degree from the University of California, Berkeley where she decided to change her focus and pursue a career in nursing. Ms. Bush graduated with a honors degree in Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Dominican University of California and is currently working as a Registered Nurse for Kaiser Permanente Oakland, which is the largest managed care organization in the United States. Ms. Bush has always made it a point in her life to help others and currently volunteers her time helping those in need of medical assistance.
Lead Instructor - Teena Decay- Served five years as a Special Education Volunteer with the Oakland Unified School District. She graduated with honors from Merritt College. Ms. Decay furthered her education by enrolling into College for Sociology, at the University of California, Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. Currently working with County of Contra Costa, Department of Social Work, Ms. Decay is the Lead Brain Learning Instructor at Excellearning.
